The World Future Society is the leading organization devoted to helping humans deal with the ominous weight of the future. About 1,000 people ranging from scholars to scientists to tech-heads to just ordinary folk participate in organized discussions and workshops. The goal is to grapple with important issues that face everyone in the near future.
There are sessions of interest to everyone, from business to education to new technologies to social change to economics. This is an annual, roaming conference that usually takes place during the last week of July. The location is Houston for 2000 and Minneapolis for 2001.
