World Egg Throwing Championships

"A Sport Enjoyed by Millions of People Since Early Humans Discovered the Delight of Watching the Failure of Another to Catch a Tossed Egg."
You can't make an omelet - or an egg-throwing contest - without breaking eggs.
Now, an omelet is its own delicious reward. But when throwing an egg at another person, the big reward is hitting another's nether regions. (Nether regions, in this case, as in most others, means testicles.) Darrah Hardy, competing in the World Egg Throwing Championships accuracy competition, apparently didn't realize she would receive the most points for targeting the nether-regions of the renowned volunteer nicknamed Stupid Steve (who describes himself as "a sandwich shy of a picnic"). Instead, the nine-year-old hit the man four consecutive times in the head-the second highest point-scoring spot-and managed to capture the title.
Competitors can't put all their eggs in one basket, however. Other disciplines at the competition, held annually in Lincolnshire, England, include the egg static relay in which 11-player teams race to pass a dozen eggs, one by one, down a course, as well as the trebuchet challenge, where contestants build catapults to hurl eggs that must be caught by a teammate.
The throwing and catching event is fairly self-explanatory: Teammates begin about 33 feet apart (10 meters) tossing the egg; after each completed throw, they back up and throw again. In 1978, Texan Johnie Dell Foley successfully tossed an egg 323 feet 2 inches to his cousin Keith Thomas.
No telling, though, how Foley would have faired in the World Championships' newest event, egg Russian roulette. Here, players are blindfolded and given six eggs: Five are hardboiled, one is raw. Competitors alternate smashing the eggs against their own heads. First to shoot themselves with a "yolking" gun loses. Still better than getting egged in the nether regions, right?
