Bonkers for conkers? Why not try your hand at the World Conker Championships held annually in the English village of Ashton.

For the uninitiated, conkers is a British schoolyard pastime in which the hard shelled fruit of the horse chestnut tree (conkers) are threaded onto a length of string. Two contestents then stand off and take it in turns swinging their conker in attempt to knock their contestants conker free.

Personally I'd rather bake 'em for 40 minutes and serve them with butter and salt, but that's just me.
