For one night a year - November 5th - the ordinarily languid town of Lewes in Sussex, England comes to life to celebrate the foiling of Guy Fawkes and his cronies' Gunpowder Plot. Flaming torches, burning effigies, raucous drums, parades in full costume and flashy fireworks make Bonfire Night in Lewes an event not to be missed.
