Following a ceremony at the Sri Manicka Vinayakar Alayam Temple a colourful procession takes to the streets in a celebration of the elephant-headed and human-bodied Lord Ganesh - the Remover of Obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences, and the deva of intellect and wisdom.
