Vancouver International Jazz Festival
Vancouver International Jazz Festival
Since its inception in 1986, the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival has "set the standard for excellence, creativity, and positive energy" to quote New York trumpeter/composer Taylor Ho Bynum. Established legendary musicians and emerging artists—whether working in traditional forms or developing their own distinctive paths—find opportunities to pursue their dream projects, experiment with new ideas, or refine existing concepts at the Festival.
Over ten days their colossal international musical showcase will attract hundreds of thousands of people to experience and enjoy the best performers from Canada and around the world. Yet size and scope notwithstanding, the Festival retains a remarkable grassroots, community spirit and vitality rarely experienced anywhere else. Through the participation of enthusiastic musicians and passionate fans, sponsors, staff and volunteers, the Festival has contributed greatly to the growth of Vancouver as a cultural destination for music aficionados from near and far.
The TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival is the largest music festival in British Columbia, winner of numerous awards for Best Festival and praised as one of the leading jazz festivals in the world. Acclaimed for its innovative and adventurous programming, stellar production values, community partnerships, solid fiscal management and extraordinary volunteers (1000+) the Festival consistently delivers opportunities for audiences and artists to experience the live moment of unrepeatable genius, which is the defining feature of jazz.
