Rosemary Basil - Travel Writer
Rosemary Basil
On a cold day in Buffalo, New York in 1985 she ventured on a winter break from travel and tourism school and found herself in New Oleans for a 78 degree New Years Eve. Look out! She fell in love and never looked back (at snow), packing everything including plants and one teenage daughter, she moved down that fall.
Now, having lived there for 15 years, degrees in travel and tourism and ethnomusicology, worked at the library and moonlighted a couple of her own businesses in restaurant marketing and Underground Parades, musical tours off the beaten track... Today, Rose has kicked back-- a freelance writer-folkartist, award winning garden photo-journalist and courtyard gardener, WEB junkie! After living 9 years in the heart of the French Quarter, she's now a Lakeside resident eagerto explore the many nearby seafood restaurants and marinas. See her photos and daily flower photos for www.flowergumbo.com.
