As a prolific travel, history, antiques and business writer, Bob Brooke has traveled to over 75 countries, covering such diverse subjects as living under terrorism in Northern Ireland, shopping in Hong Kong, training through Eastern Europe, discovering the Russia of the Czars, gallery hopping in Paris, and exploring ruins in Mexico, his specialty, as well as festivals all over the globe.
He has authored 14 books, four of them between 2006 and 2008. One of his first books, The Amish Country, showcases the Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Amish community. Recently, Brooke wrote the The Everything Family Guide to Mexico, the result of over 20 years of travel to all but five states in Mexico. Two more for the Everything series, one on Coastal Florida and the other on The American Southwest, explore family travel in those areas. Two more on antiques, How to Recognize and Refinish Antiques for Pleasure and Profit and How to Start Your Own Antiques Business in Your Home, define his love of antique collecting.
Brooke's articles have appeared in many national and international publications, including AntiqueWeek, Adventure West, Delta Sky, Business Traveller (UK), British Heritage, Executive Traveler, History Magazine, and Discover Mexico. And for his travel writing, he has received Mexico's prestigious La Pluma de Plata Award and the Real Award from Westin Hotels, as well as awards for two years in a row from the National Association of Hispanic Publishers for his excellent writing on Mexico.
