When I passed out of school, people said there is no future for Literature. Who would give a real job to a soppy English Litt student? Well, I have put in two successful years in advertising, some months of Web content development and now I am a (if not highly acclaimed) at least respected Technical Writer. Only now, people on this side of the world have understood the importance of communication and the role we writers play in it. I would say I was in the right place at the right time. And my unflagging interest in anything remotely resembling a book of paper was indeed helpful.
I have also put in some research for the educational portal Studyweb.com on architecture. As you are aware, now my pet interest in talking about the women in India. I do this by being an editor at Suite101.com (see link below)
