Meg Greene Malvasi - Travel Writer

Meg Greene Malvasi

I am a writer and historian living in Virginia. I hold graduate degrees in history and historic preservation, and started writing history for children seven years ago.

I contribute regularly to Cobblestone Magazine and have written eleven books, including a history of American slavery, several biographies and a work on historical archaeology. My areas of interest are primarily in American history, and I enjoy seeking out those stories and people that don't always find their way into the history books. Writing history is a lot like playing detective. You look for the clues and piece together the evidence to discover what happened and why. Although it can be tough work at times, it is always rewarding. I can't see doing anything else.
