Sonia Michaels - Travel Writer
Sonia Michaels
Sonia Michaels is a writer, editor, teacher and web site administrator, whose work has been published online and in print in the United States, Canada and Japan. She earned her Master's Degree in English Literature from the University of Washington, after which she spent eight years teaching a wide variety of English courses at various colleges and universities. She even reached the "ABD" (all but dissertation) stage of a Ph.D. at the University of Victoria before realizing that non-academic writing and editing was much more fun.
Since 2000, Sonia has worked as an editor and consultant with Los Angeles-based Accepted.com, helping clients with their application essays for undergraduate, graduate and professional schools (including law, medical and MBA programs). Beyond her association with Accepted.com, she also offers a range of other writing and editing services, both academic and professional.
Recently, Sonia designed the web site for the "Mulino dell'Opera," a bed-and-breakfast with vacation cottages near Lucca in Tuscany. She also manages the web site for the Hotel Il Bargellino in Florence, Italy.
Sonia also edits and maintains Mediterranean Online.
Sonia has lived in England, Jamaica, Canada and the United States, and travelled through most of Europe. She currently resides in British Columbia, Canada, but is fascinated with all things Mediterranean.
