Alan Dearling - Travel Writer
Alan Dearling
Alan is founder of Enabler Publications. The site includes a substantial amount of festival materials.
Enabler publications and training services have been in existence since 1986, first based in Burnmouth, a tiny Scottish Borders fishing village, then on a narrow boat on the canal system, and for 15 years in Lyme Regis, Dorset and Teignmouth in south Devon. In October 2006 it retuned to near its birthplace - now located in Eyemouth in Berwickshire on the Scottish coast.
Throughout this period, we have been commissioning, writing and editing books for a wide range of UK and International publishers, particularly about creative work with young people, environmentailsm, Travellers and the counter culture, housing, crime and social work.
Books include: Another kind of space - creating ecological dwellings and environments; Battle of the Beanfield, and No Boundaries - new Travellers on the road (outside of England).
Books that largely fulfil the motto:
Books to feed the Mind and Spirit
Alan is a director of the Authors' Licensing and Copyright Society and production editor of publications for the Chartered Institute of Housing and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation.
