Michael J. Rosen
Michael J. Rosen, an all-around non-athlete, is the author of some 80 books for both adults and kids. These include volumes of poetry, cookbooks, children's picture books, young adult novels, and a variety of anthologies that benefit animal welfare efforts and Share Our Strength, an organization that works to end childhood hunger.
On the subject of sports, he has nonetheless written two books on the balls used in the world's major sports: Balls! and Balls! Round 2. (His attempts to convince his publisher to go with title that would be less conducive to middle-school kids giggling were unsuccessful.) For nearly 20 years, he directed the Thurber House in Columbus, Ohio, the boyhood home of humorist James Thurber. Subsequently he edited four volumes of Thurber's work and established The Thurber Prize in American Humor.
His next book will be Any Body's Guess! Quirk Quizzes About What Makes Us Tick. (Spring 2010).
