Outhouse Races
Outhouse Races

If you're traveling up the highway in northern Washington during January and you see one, two, three outhouses strapped to the roof of an AMC Eagle or in the bed of ¾ ton Chevy truck...it's not a movement. Well, at least no bowels will be moved in these outhouses, because they are destined for the Conconully Outhouse Races.
Not nearly as colorful as the larger event in Tenary, MI, this 190-person town -- counting cats, dogs, and cows -- has been hosting this race for longer. For the last twenty years in Conconully outhouses have been a point of pride. (Every February they also host the winter Downhill Blow-Up Boat Race.)
