Festival Location: Las Vegas, NV, USA

Festival State: Nevadan Festivals

Festival Type(s): Impersonators Conventions, Fan Coventions, Bizarre Festivals

Needed: freaks caked in makeup, glitter hairspray, clothes with lots of sequins and shoes like leprechauns. Throw in a little talent tickling the ivories and you just might have a shot at honoring the memory of one of Vegas' most celebrated performers on his birthday.

Held every May, competitors in the Liberace "Play-A-Like" Competition are judged on piano technique, material selection, performance style, with additional credit awarded to those who really deck themselves out a la Liberace. There are two categories of competition, the Advanced/ Professional and the Amateur/Nonprofessional. Just across the street from Carluccios' Piano Bar (the competition site) is the Liberace Museum Costume Gallery, which is open for praying prior to the event.
