Khamoro - World Roma Festival

Prague plays host to this annual celebration of the Gypsy culture, which each year focuses on contributions of Romanies or Gypsies from a particular country.

A number of venues around Prague come to life with Gypsy jazz, classical and traditional Romany music. Gypsy theatre, films, literature, dance and art are all on display at various sites around the Czech capital during the festival. Seminars on Romany related topics are open to the public to attend all in the hope of fostering a better understanding of the Gypsy lifestyle.

The culmination of this weeklong event comes on the Saturday when all festival participants join together to perform a concert in Prague's Lucerna hall.
