Dunseith, ND, is the place to witness some of the best fiddle playing on the planet. Fiddlers ranging in age from under 13 to over 65 compete in different classes for cash prizes upwards of $400. There is no registration fee to enter this annual June event, which was first held in 1975. But to be one of the 2000 people who attend every year, you'll need to shell out $7 per day, plus an extra $6 per day if you want to see the evening entertainment. The best deal is to buy a weekend pass for $13, which gives you access to everything.
