International Jugglers Festival

By: © Nelson Taylor 2008

Festival Location: Niagara Falls, NY, USA

Festival State: New York Festivals

Festival Type: Juggling Festivals

Although the International Jugglers Association has been around since the late 40s, they really didn't start meeting for conventions until the early 70s. Now, over a thousand bowling pin tossers show up every July to strut their stuff and learn a new trick or two from some industry gods.

Jugglers of all ages and all levels of expertise compete both for fun and for prizes. Open to the public, entry costs just $2 per day, which will get you into contemporary juggling shows like Airjazz, three juggling dancers who also happen to be National Juggling Champions.

Maybe the most enjoyable event is the Numbers Challenge, where attempts are made every year to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the maximum number of objects juggled. And if you've always wanted to learn to juggle, step right up.
