This year's festival for 3 -14 year olds will be no different. The 2005 Children's Festival is guaranteed to have more dogs, clowns, ugly ducklings and ugly sisters than any other.......Oh yes, and there's that stack of dynamite...
Fourteen critically acclaimed and award-winning productions in seven days from Denmark, Wales, Scotland, Italy, Canada, Belgium, The Netherlands and Russia. This year's venues include the Traverse Theatre, King's Theatre, Royal Lyceum, Gateway and North Edinburgh Arts Centre. Although the Bank of Scotland Children's International Theatre Festival is based in Edinburgh, the Festival is committed to touring some of the work to other areas of Scotland. This year's tour until the 18th June includes Glasgow and Stirling as well as many other parts of Scotland.
Highlights this year includes a dance piece specially created for 5-9 year olds as well as Scottish favourites Wee Stories and Catherine Wheels.
Theatre for children can change their perceptions, their values and their understanding of their world by entertaining, enriching, teaching and inspiring.
