Although not nearly the size of the World Wildfowl Carving Championships, the Festival of Carving does have many more categories, which include Canes & Walking Sticks, full-size Carousel figures, Caricatures, Human Figures, Domestic Animals and Miniatures, to name a few. While these are all wood carving events, there is also a special other-than-wood category.
$5 will get your carved creation entered into this annual October event. For those not handy with their hands, $3 will get you into the showroom. For more info call 301/854-0067.
