Emmett Kelly Clown Festival
Emmett Kelly Clown Festival

Every final weekend in April, ho-hum Houston, MO, gets white-faced and rosy-cheeked celebrating the life of the world famous "Weary Willie." Although many American towns claim Emmett Kelly, Sr. as their own, Houston is the only hamlet he ever really called home.
Whether you're a class clown or a performing professional, all are welcome to don a bright red wig and floppy shoes and perform in the parade. While the event itself is free, admittance to clown college will cost you $25. Here you'll learn the art of make-up, juggling, magic and just plain old clowning around.
